Grooved Pipe Fittings Buying Guide: What to Include in an RFQ

A useful grooved pipe fittings RFQ starts with a line-by-line list. Identify couplings, elbows, tees, reducers, threaded reducers, end caps, flange adapters and mechanical tees separately. Record each quantity and any drawing reference. For elbows, specify the angle; for tees and reducers, list every connection size in a consistent order. This helps an importer, wholesaler or engineering buyer compare quotations against the same requirements instead of grouping different fittings under one description.

Provide the nominal pipe size, actual outside diameter (OD), units, pipe material and wall thickness or schedule. Identify requested housing, seal and coating materials rather than assuming them from a photograph. Seal selection depends on both the medium and temperature; a seal's suitability does not establish that every other component is suitable.
